The young São Paulo singer Céu captivated the world with her self- titled debut album in 2008. After being chosen as the first interna- tional artist featured in Starbucks’ Hear MusicTM Debut series, Céu earned both Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations, countless press accolades, and chart topping numbers.
To celebrate their 7th year anniversary, JungleDrums will host the UK debut of this amazing rising star, with a night including support from the fantastic Zeep and London’s DJ legend, DJ Limão, making for an unprecedented line-up of Brazilian talent that is capturing the imagination of those in the know.
Receiving rave reviews from the top critics, Céu’s headlining this momentous event for the leading Brazilian/Latin Magazine in the UK is an exciting prospect in a young vibrant venue. With a capacity of 800+, it’s going to be the biggest night of the Brazilian calendar in London this year.
The performance is timely for Céu who is due to release her new album, Vagarosa, later in November. Céu’s fresh tropilectro sound is emblematic of her hometown São Paulo, the intensely urban, for- ward-looking megalopolis of the tropics, epicentre of the independ- ent music scene in Brazil and a buzzing hotbed of invention and musical breakthrough. With Céu, pop, electronica, samba, and dub make effortless connections, and to do this amazing talent justice, a support act with caliber, being none other than Zeep, was chosen.
Blending Brazilian and European influences to perfection, Zeep continue to blow away new listeners and are set for a bright future. Adding to the mix, DJ Limão is the leading Brazilian DJ on the London scene, right at the forefront of his industry.
To mark their 7th year, JungleDrums had to go big and this night is set to surpass its high standards in cultural and artistic expression that the magazine has established since 2002.
