SKANKt play a high energy blend of alternative-ska-rock that hints of the likes of The Specials, The Clash and The Police; music that pulls people to the dance floor.

The first studio album perfect timing arrived in 2003. BBC Gloucestershire said It’s not hard to see why the band’s following is going from strength to strength as ’Perfect Timing’ mixes up a wicked variety of styles in a neat and well-produced package. SKANKt followed the studio time with several mini-tours around the UK over the next 2 years.

In 2005 SKANKt gained trumpeter Tim Kemp. 2005 also saw SKANKt play the Nokia Isle of White Festival as part of the white air extreme sports village, and sharing a stage with Radio 1s Giles Peterson at the award winning Wychwood Festival.

At the beginning of 2006 SKANKt went back to the studio to record new album Thieves operate in this area. With the new self-released album SKANKt will continue self-promoting and hard-work to get their music heard. As Matt says Theres no point waiting for things to come to you. We get out there and we take it on!.

Well dust off your inlines and skate your way down to Barfly where we’ll be mixing it up across 2 rooms with the very best in cheesy pop anthems. You won’t be able to touch this with MC Hammer, the are no limits with classic dance hits from mould breakers 2 Unlimited, Liam and Noel will be clashing heads, and we‘ll have you singing mmm bop for days!!! .
