This is not just a gig, this is A Corrupt Event !
Barfly's ONLY dedicated new & unsigned bands night, since 2005...

Re-Play Festival, winner of a 2007 Music Industry Award, grew out of the Surrey Strings' instrument recycling project.  Re-Play is non-profit & supports music workshops for the young and old alike.  They run workshops with Mencap and also donate to a number of music therapy groups such as Core Arts and Soundminds to name but a few, as well as a number of London projects...

In 2007, they held two major events, in venues across South West London, and South Wales, where
over 130 bands & musicians and poets gave their time and talents for free.  This Included rising names as varied as: Scroobius Pip, Lisa Knapp, Joe Schmo, Pistola, J. Owen, JD & The Longfellows, & Frank Hamilton. These events were held in support of their scheme to recycle musical instruments and put them into the hands of Britain's youth. In various areas with social problems, the scheme, started by Surrey Strings, repairs old instruments, and distributes them to young people, runs workshops, and provides support for these new musicians.

This event features an exceptionally talented artist on the rise, who took part in Re-Play Festival 2007, and is one of it's biggest supporters: Irishman, Rodney Brannigan <http://www.myspace.com/He's a two-guitar wielding nu-bluesman, fast making a name for himself on the nu-folk scene. He's even been invited to teach top Flamenco guitarists in Spain his techniques, and is currently touring India.

Support comes from equally talented JC's Flatline Junkies, featuring Jonny Oz from Ozric Tentacles on guest flute.  Serving up some twisted Floydesque, Doors-like, Rock'n'Roll.  Plus Corrupt regulars, Goodtimes Goodtimes, throwing blues on the carnival bandstand and dance around them with a smile from ear to ear.

An additional £1 per person added to our normal ticket price for this e
vent, which goes straight to Replay.  Many of our acts are donating some or all of their fee to the cause. You are welcome to donate more on the night, should you wish to further support this great cause, or just bring along your old / unused instruments for them!
