A Corrupt Event @ Barfly
Corrupt Events' flagship night, and Barfly's only dedicated new and unsigned bands night, has been running here for three years. We continue to corrupt the mundane hum of everyday life in your mind and auditory senses by giving you, the open-minded music-lover, the opportunity to see new and underground bands and solo artists play a great venue, packed full of musical history. Creating an oasis of unusual music in the middle of Camden.
There's a different theme each month, from Electro to Indie to Rock to Experimental, but quality guaranteed every time. Because good music is not defined by genre!
Between bands, our Corrupt resident DJ, Ed Wilder will play music to suit the monthly theme, and experiment with new off-the-radar tracks and remixes. Generally, everyone we Corrupt'd is allowed to stay on when the live music's done, for the ever-popular Casino Royale clubnight.

Live (headline down): THE MOLOTOVS, KAPUTT, GIANLUCA BRISIGOTTI...
Plus our *NEW* Corrupt DJ from the forthcoming Shoreditch Radio E-zine, Blonde Ambition <http://www.myspace.com/blondeambitionrocks>, spinning new guitar-based music, remixes & b-sides;
to amuse and confuse between bands.
Our headliners this month are... "New up-and-coming band The Molotovs <http://www.myspace.com/themolotovs> : Sheer adrenaline and spot-on harmonics ... menacing drums in bed with frantic pianos and crawling vocals which express a passion for songmanship so infrequently seen you wonder how these guys were inspired by anything other than the greatest bands in history". So says White Heat.
In support are Too Pure's newest release, Kaputt <http://www.myspace.com/kaputtmusic>. They've been on the circuit for a little while now, and suddenly (finally!) it's all happening for them. With live radio sessions on Marc Riley’s show on BBC 6Music and on BBC Bristol, following their 2007 XPosure session, and features on American station KEXP Seattle, where they were record of the day, after John Kennedy smuggled their 7" through US security (more on their myspace). Their Kraut-indie-late 80's sound clearly has a lot of people very excited.
And opening the show is the gorgeous Gianluca Brisigotti <http://www.myspace.com/gianlucabrisigotti>. Currently playing around the UK extensively and building up quite a following as he does for his melodic indie-rock which has overtones of both Messrs. Jack Penate and Jeff Buckley (who'd ever have thought we'd see those two in the same sentence?!). Gianluca will also have the ladies swooning as he's a bit of a heartthrob!
Bands 7.30-10.30pm, followed by Casino Royale club, 'til 3am
