THREE OF THE WORLD’S MOST INNOVATIVE TURNTABLISTS JOIN FORCES FOR A LIVE MUSICAL COLLABORATION”

RockHard Bastards Feat

D STYLES

DJ EXCESS

+ TOADSTYLE

Plus support from DJ Matman and DJ Daredevil

D-Styles, DJ Excess and Toadstyle, both solo and in their legendary collaborations between themselves and with others as Ned Hoddings, Gunkhole and Beatjunkies have been shaking up the underground turntablist scene. Emphasising musical composition and style over highly technical yet repetitive scratching, their incredible innovations and dazzling performances, have redefined the turntable from being a record player, to a musical instrument. Refusing to adhere to musical boundaries and blurring the lines between straight sampled and scratched, there lives manage to join the dots between free jazz, funk and hiphop with the low-end developments that resonate with the UK’s bass music scene.

Casino Royale has spent over 12 years filling the Barfly on 1st & 3rd Saturdays with its mix of cool retro guitar and 60s tunes over two floors, irrepressible host Victor de Milo, knowledgeable resident DJs and a smattering of guest DJs.

UPSTAIRS: DJs playing classic guitar cuts from then 'til now, joining the musical dots between the Stones, Smiths & Strokes, etc.

Ed Wilder (Club NME)?
-As well as being a resident at Koko's Club NME, a support DJ for the Killers at their recent Scala warm-up shows and the only DJ we know to have played at the top of the BT Tower, Ed has been on fire when it comes to his remixes, which you really should check out:?http://soundcloud.com/edwilder/sets/remixes-219/

The Playing Fields (live @ 11)
- "The band’s sound is... what might happen if Lou Reed and H. P. Lovecraft met in a pub one dark and gloomy night and decided to form a band. Some of the most hauntingly-poetic lyrics ever to grace a debut - or for that matter, platinum - album." said Music4M.

You and Others Around You (live @ 11.40)
- YAOAY are a post-punk indie electro funk band from Hackney Wick. They've been credited with having both "the most beautiful name in electro pop" and "the longest name in electro pop"! Julia Fodor, music editor of ID magazine, is a fan of theirs and wrote about them in her column in QX magazine recently.

DOWNSTAIRS: It's a riot of 60s garage, northern soul, psychedelia from:

TONY TUNES (Casino Royale Resident)
- Tony is an increasingly regular sight behind our decks. You may have seen him in his matching London Underground shirt and tie. He's got an ear for good tunes and an eye on the dancefloor, so there's always a party when he's on.

Spencer Rocks
- Spencer Rocks has DJ'd for over 15 years and was a regular at The Time Tunnel, Supermarket, Quintessence, Automatic, Club X, Blow Up and more. Spencer joined forces with Ruby Rocks in 2004 who was thrown straight into the deep end with a mighty five and a half hour set at Casino Royale, with Supergrass DJing upstairs! Together they have spun classics at pubs, clubs, parties and weddings from London to New York via Casino Royale and Cape Town. Now, after a short hiatus away from Camden's finest nightclub, Spencer Rocks returns to the Royale to spin on some fine Garage - Rock n' Soul 45s.

Plus, flamboyant host Victor de Milo hands out his own bank notes so that everyone can have a free go on our "Monte Carlo-style Roulette table", with the chance to win drinks!
