Jill Jackson made her name back in 2004 as front woman of UK band Speedway. The band’s cover of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Genie In A Bottle’ scored Jill and Speedway their 1st UK Top Ten hit. The band went on to enjoy further success throughout 2004 and 2005 including a 2nd Top Ten hit. Speedway split in 2005 with Jill embarking on a career as a solo artist. In the latter part of 2005 Jill moved to Nashville. During this time she honed her craft as a musician and developed a style that was true to her. Described in the Nashville press as the “Scottish Songbird”, Jill’s work sees her bring her own unique Rock/Americana style, whilst remaining very much alternative. In 2006 the EP Painted Faces – a 5 track ukulele collection was released. This offered a mix of brilliantly crafted lyrics and beautiful melodies. Former Spice Girl Melanie C recorded two of Jill’s songs (‘Don’t Let Me Go’ and ‘What If I Stay’) for her fourth studio record “This Time” (2007).  Late 2009 saw Jill spent time in Denmark recording her much anticipated solo album. The album titled ‘Back to Zero’ was launched in February 2010 to great acclaim. This was then followed by a UK tour taking in cities such as Belfast, Manchester, Liverpool Cardiff and London has developed and added to her ever loyal fan base.  In late 2011 Jill is due back in the studio to start the recording of her much anticipated second solo album which will be produced by Simple Minds Mick MacNeill. The album will be due for release in Spring 2012 followed by a UK tour. 2012 promises to be a very busy year.
