If ever there was a Club to sign up to, it’s the one spearheaded by rip-roaring, party-hardy duo Jordan Malane and Alex Wall.
An irrepressible garage-pop ‘n’ surf-punk pair that burst out of Australia’s Gold Coast in 2010, Bleeding Knees Club have won hearts and minds through a reckless live reputation and, on the recorded front, with a swag of super-catchy tunes on their debut EP “Virginity”.
Notoriously hard-to-impress UK music bible NME fawningly named them as one of the 50 Best New Bands of 2011, and fresh London singles label Noir snapped them up for a one-off 7”.
Jordan and Alex then high-tailed it to New York City, to record their forthcoming debut album with new BFF Dev Hynes (from Lightspeed Champion and Blood Orange) as producer. The upcoming record encapsulates everything that’s made the world fall in love with Bleeding Knees Club these past 12 months: it’s a raw ‘n’ urgent set of super-fun songs about girls, getting high, and sticking it to The Man.
After inking a deal with LA-Based Label IAMSOUND (Florence & The Machine, Active Child), BKC released album preview single Teenage Girls worldwide, with a clip that will take most people back to the joys of formative years. Their Virginity EP is released in the USA on October 18th, just in time for their key IAMSOUND, NME & Windish Agency showcases at CMJ Music Marathon, NYC.
Following a Month Long Stint in the US, BKC return home for Summer Festivities the release of Teenage Girls, including spots at Homebake and The Falls (Lorne). This good-time duo are truly bringing the party the world-over. Catch them wherever, whenever you can … it’s time to join the Club!
