The Black Velvets

At the End of 2005 The Black Velvets released  Once In A While, the brand new single taken from the bands eponymous debut album which was released also later that year. The self-titled debut album is a collection of 10 glam punk rock classics that demand the listeners attention, all delivered with a cocksure swagger that displays the bands no frills attitude to rock and roll.
Already firmly established as a live favourite Once In A While displays all the hallmarks of The Black Velvets no nonsense glam punk rock! Driving guitars, pounding drums and an anthemic chorus all combined with the swagger and attitude that sets them apart from the pack.
The Liverpool four piece first started attracting attention at the start of 2004 having only been together for a few months but they quickly grew in stature and stood apart from any scene. They played dates with The Killers, The Who and John Squire to name a few, The Black Velvets then spent the latter part of 2004 in a remote studio in Ireland where they recorded the album.

The album contains all their singles from the stomping Get On Your Life through the glam of 3345 to their current anthem Once In A While . The record delivers all the power and drive of their unstoppable live show which has been honed to perfection this year with everything from support slots with Motley Crue to defying the elements at Glastonbury. Right from the storming opener I Wont Lie Down through to the epic rock closer Youre Not Giving It All the band are relentless in their assault on the senses and desire to be the biggest rock band in the world. The cover of The Black Velvets album is an original piece of artwork by guitarist Robbie. The lads are curently working on a new e.p that should be available at the begining of 2007 when the band set of on another U.K tour.

Loney, Dear Loney, Dear is the X-man band. Loney, Dear is also the disguise of multi-instrumentalist and audio homecooking expert Emil Svanängen. In the tiny, sweltering hot Stockholm studio apartment, or in the cool basement of his parents house is where all the magic happens. The outside world has no idea of whats going on. Two records a year is his M.O., and by new years eve of 2009 all is said to come to a close. Everything is recorded in a very modest homestudio setup, using a minidisc mic and a set of headphones to avoid disturbing his neighbors. When Emil recently moved and had to get rid of his floor lamp, he finally budged and bought his first micstand. Emil has developed an almost manic approach to his songwriting. Hard work and more hard work being the only recipe, allowing for experimentation and reinvention. Textural newcomers include clarinets, floortoms and pumporgans to enhance the sonic landscape surrounding the beautiful melodies that sometimes echo age old church hymns.’ and a special acoustic set from London pop-punksters...  CicconeCiccone (pronounced chick-oh-knee) are the original kings of DIY. They've been single of the week on Radio 1 (three singles played on mainland Radio 1 Lamacq, Peel, Moyles [daytime], and one on Radio 1 Northern Ireland), a high-rotation playlisting on XFM and had their no-budget videos played on MTV, MTV2 and Kerrang TV. Outside the UK, they have a far-reaching fan base and have had radio play in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy (national press), Germany, Greece, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and the US, all off their own backs. Theyve even been on a kids show in Canada. Ciccone released their debut album in September 2004. Eversholt Street was recorded / produced by them in their bedroom and is unashamedly British. Honestly pure and spirited, Eversholt Street approaches issues with a stark, sussed directness. It had loving album reviews in The Fly, Rocksound, Kerrang, Music Week, TNT, The Times, What's On and Guitar Magazine. ‘

Mumm-Ra

Pop music that sweeps and sways and hopefully does justice to the music that makes us get up in the morning  - the lush beauty of The Beach Boys via the pastoral quirks of The Kinks to the outer limits reached by The Beta Band and Sigor Ros.Featuring as one of the 2007 NME Shockwaves Indie Rock Tour acts, Mumm-Ra have certainly got an exciting year ahead…Mumm-Ra are set to release their next single, ‘What Would Steve Do?, on Feb 19th 2007.

The Pistolas

Drawing on inspiration from – amongst others – The Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, The Ramones and The Specials, “The Pistolas have come up with the frankly mental idea of sounding like Hot Hot Heat playing Clash covers in a crèche.  A guitar slashes its chest, a bass frots itself into a froth while some infants yelp backing vocals.  Sticky-floored crayon-fingered genius…” NME
