Pushboxer and friends – Single Launch Party
Firstly we’d like to thank you for getting this far (i.e. the event page) and genuinely deliberating the prospect of spending an evening with us and some of our friends to celebrate the launch of our first single, Pictures.
The night is intended as a big thank you to everyone who has trawled the streets of London (and beyond) to support us over the last two years. In that time we’ve stumbled across a few other bands/artists that have excited and enthralled us just as much as we’ve been tremendously humbled by them. Three of said acts have been kind enough to agree to play with us on the 18th.
Mo (http://www.myspace.com/mofantastic) has been there with us from the start, winning our hearts at our first ever gig in the darkest depths of Clapham. He’s since played at a couple of our club nights and armed with his ukulele, keyboard and mesmerising voice is bound to drop a few jaws.
Vadoinmessico (www.myspace.com/vadoinmessicoband) frightened the living daylights out of us the first time we came across them…and at that point there was only one of them. So intimidated were we that we ended up glugging lots of wine and jumping around like madmen to the histrionics, tenderness and beauty of this European/Mexican collective.
And last but certainly not least there’s the beautiful Bianca (http://www.myspace.com/biancarosemusic). Never before had we seen a crowd so silenced by someone until Ms Rose stumbled (in fact she fell on her arse) on stage and serenaded us with her tales about everything from forlorn love to a lecherous Brixton market.
