UK EXCLUSIVE SHOW!!

The Residents latest performance, THE BUNNY BOY, will launch as a world tour in the fall of 2008. The show will combine music from the group's upcoming album, THE BUNNY BOY (Mute/SDR), with video taken from THE BUNNY BOY internet series, premiering early in September, 2008. The story centers around an eccentric character, the bunny boy, whose search for his missing brother compels him to post videos on the internet as a "cry for help." As the story evolves, it opens up to interaction between the bunny boy and his audience, causing the narrative to twist and turn in odd and unpredictable ways. Spanning a gap between insanity and self realization, the loony, but affable bunny boy soon finds himself pursuing a goal no less vital than saving the world from Armageddon. It's a wild ride. The stage design, by Chris McGregor (CUBE E, Wormwood, Icky Flix) will feature a unique "schizophrenic" layout that allows performers to move between musical, video, and theatric realms. Barraging the audience with imagery and sound, in typical Residents' style the performance radiates and savors the quality of a surreal circus. The group will perform their music live while integrating other visual and performance elements into an evening of riveting and unique entertainment. * * * Over the course of a recording career spanning several decades, The Residents have remained a riddle of Sphinx-like proportions; cloaking their lives and music in a haze of willful obscurity, the band's members never identified themselves by name, always appearing in public in disguise -- usually tuxedos, top hats and giant eyeball masks -- and refusing to grant media interviews. So after more than 35 years, The Residents are still around – they are truly a legend of their own, for instance they were the first musicians to create music videos (and you can watch them at the collection of MoMa New York). Now with a new stage program and album, they are still on top of things, one of the most “modern”, charismatic and interesting bands of our time. Former work includes legendary productions such as “The Third Reich ‘N’ Roll” (1976), “Eskimo” (1979), “The Big Bubble” (1985) or “God in 3 Persons” (1988). THE BUNNY BOY is the first tour concept The Residents put on stage since the year of 2003.
With THE BUNNY BOY, The Residents have created another off beat pop gem. A sonic roller coaster in the style of Duck Stab, The Commercial Album and Demons Dance Alone, the album features 19 fast paced songs.
Obsession, insanity and the coming Apocalypse have never sounded better.
